Bride’s wedding ‘ruined’ as dress she bought online looks nothing like the photos
It’s no secret that ordering clothes online can be a little risky – if you haven’t tried them on before purchasing, you never quite know what you’re going to get.
But it’s a risk that many of us take, after all, you can always return it.
One bride-to-be decided to take a chance after she came across a ‘stunning’ wedding dress online for a bargain price.
Meaghan Taylor found a dreamy full-length gown on Wish for just £60, reports The Daily Star.
But when the garment arrived and she tried it on, she was disappointed to discover that it looked absolutely nothing like the photos on the site.
The 23-year-old received an ill-fitting garment that rode up her body when she put it on – instead of flowing gracefully.
Speaking about the disastrous dress, she said: “I was blown away by what I received. It looked nothing like the photo when I ordered it.
“I was pretty heartbroken, but I couldn’t help but laugh.”
She contacted the private seller on Wish to ask for a refund, but says she had some trouble getting her money back.
“I did ask for my money back,” she explained.
“But they had told me I needed the original packaging and the box it had come in, which I didn’t keep.
“I then proceeded to tell them that this ruined my wedding as I was expecting the dress in the photo.
“And they finally returned my money.”
Meaghan has been able to see the funny side of the shopping fail and will be finding a new dress for her wedding to fiancé Keith Reid, 30, next summer.
The mum-of-one shared a photo of herself with the dress on and posted it on Facebook, writing: “On another episode of what we ordered and what we actually got.
“My face tells exactly how I’m feeling. Show me your online fails.”
The post went viral with many giggling over how the frock looked in real life.
She added: “It was too funny not to post. I’m sure a lot of people will get a kick out of it.
“I’m glad it made everyone else’s day just like it did mine.”
