Boy, 16, and man, 19, fighting for life after two separate London stabbings in 45 minutes

Two teenagers are fighting for their lives after separate stabbings in London this evening.

A 16-year-old was rushed to hospital after the first attack, which happened in Brixton at around 6.15pm today.

And a 19-year-old is in a critical condition after a stabbing in Newham, East London, at around 6.55pm.

No arrests have been made in connection with either attack, My London reports.

Police have brought in a section 60 order – which temporarily gives police extra stop and search powers – in large parts of Brixton.

It will be in place until 6.45am tomorrow as detectives appeal for information to help trace the attackers.

Labour MP Florence Eshalomi, who represents Vauxhall, wrote on Twitter: “Very worried to hear of this stabbing earlier this evening.

“Hoping that the young man pulls through. If you have any information please do contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers.”

Less than 45 minutes after the Brixton attack, officers were called to reports of a young man found with a stab injury in Gillman Drive, Newham.

An investigation is underway following the stabbing.

It is the latest in a string of stabbings in London.

This evening police named Tyreke Watson as the victim of a knife attack in West Green Road, Tottenham, in broad daylight yesterday.

Tyreke died from his injuries, leaving his family “devastated”, the Met said in a statement.

A witness told the Evening Standard : “The guy came out of Cash Converters and a tiny lad, really short, started chasing him.

“They were running around a car then the little guy, probably a teenager, must have stabbed the older guy.

“He staggered across the street to a doorway to a building where he lived and collapsed.”
