Arrest after cannabis plants found in greenhouse

Cannabis plants and cannabinoid liquid were found in a greenhouse in the garden of a 60-year-old man in a rural area in the Famagusta district on Sunday.

Members of the drug squad searched the home at around 1.30pm under a search warrant.

During the search they found three pots containing cannabis plants about nine to 14 centimetres high, a syringe with 3.5mg liquid cannabis extract and six bottles containing cannabinoid liquid.

Outside the house the officers discovered another pot with a cannabis plant and twelve pots with cannabis seeds in the soil.

The man was arrested and is expected to appear in court at a later stage.
